Position Summary:
Develop the CAD Execution Plan Establish CAD standards Setup the CAD and related systems. Coordinate Support Teams (Encompass, InTools, etc.) Maintain the PDMS (or PDMS) project. Provide integration of designer data/files. Provide direction and support to designers. Facilitate Design Reviews. Provide ad hoc reports from PDS or related databases.
Requirements
10+ years of relevant experience, plus an additional 4 to 7 years of applicable experience. Very strong communication and technical skills are required. Strong analysis and problem solving skills required.
Writes, modifies, and maintains user commands, command files, matrix and tutorial files for all disciplines. Trains new users and provides refresher courses for more experienced CAD operators. Assists in guiding lower level CAD Analysts within the unit. Writes and helps ensure implementation of the CAD unit’s standards and guidelines. Prepares reports for presentation to users. Develops new software and supports existing software. Responds to the CAD operators for new systems to meet current and future needs. Keeps abreast of new and developing technologies and how they might be adapted for use within the Company. Coordinates installation of new systems with user schedules. Troubleshoots the most complex and difficult system problems. Identifies and analyzes problem areas; develops alternate solutions for resolution; selects and implements most efficient and economical correction. Develops staffing schedules to ensure the most advantageous utilization of available equipment. Assists in developing plans for hardware and/or software purchases. May assist in establishing budgets for hardware lease/purchase. May monitor expenditures and report status of the budget to management on a regular basis. Completes other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
